Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson hasn’t played since Week 4 with a hamstring injury that has been slower to heal than originally anticipated. His status for the team’s Week 9 game against the Cleveland Browns remains up in the air.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports updated Johnson’s status, and it isn’t overly encouraging news. The Texans offense could really use his playmaking abilities back in the lineup, so they are hoping he can finally get over the hump this week.

We’ll provide more news as it becomes available when the practices ramp up during the week. Fantasy owners are just as desperate to get Johnson back as the Texans at this point.

Houston coach Gary Kubiak has seen quite a turnaround from the Texans defense since hiring coordinator Wade Phillips after last season. Houston (5-3) ranks third in total defense, fifth against the pass and ninth in sacks after smothering rookie Blaine Gabbert and Jacksonville in Sunday’s 24-14 victory.
